Thanks for Giving!
We had healthy numbers for our fall 2017 Box Top collection, with 1,185 Box Tops sent in. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents, so that means with collection netted $118.50 for Burgundy’s annual giving fund, which supports professional development, program and instruction, and financial aid.
Box Top coordinator Meghan Semiao (parent of Avelina, 1st Grade Goats) created a chart showing the collections for the last three years. She suggests we aim to match or beat our collection of March 2016, with highs from all classes for a grand total of 5,567 Box Tops! So keep clipping! You can send Box Tops in anytime, but our next formal collection will be in the spring.
After #GivingTuesday, we had a Grateful Wednesday at Burgundy! A total of 82 donors made contributions on Tuesday, with several more gifts coming in the rest of the week. Thanks to everyone who helped us exceed our goal of 71 donations.
Many of the gifts made on Giving Tuesday were designated to Burgundy’s annual giving fund, and we’re happy to see an increased level of participation in annual giving! These donations support professional development for teachers, the unique program and instruction opportunities that our students enjoy, and financial aid for 1 in 4 students.
As of November 30, 29% of current parents and guardians have made a gift to the annual giving fund. The Kindergarten Frogs have the most participation, at 54%. Look for updated participation numbers on the “barnometer” sign beside the carpool lane. Thanks to all who have given! If you haven’t yet, make a gift online today or contact Michele McCabe (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions.
