Community Partnerships

Burgundy is proud to have partnerships with organizations in our community and region with similar missions and shared goals. These include:

Emerging Scholars

Emerging Scholars identifies motivated and capable underserved fourth grade students from the Washington, DC metropolitan area and prepares them to thrive in independent schools. Through its intensive academic, social and cultural program, and working closely with families, Emerging Scholars puts its students on a path to become effective leaders and engaged citizens in their academic careers and beyond. Burgundy is one of the organization's founding schools, and Emerging Scholars' tuition-free, 14-month program is currently hosted at Burgundy's Alexandria campus.

A Better Chance

A Better Chance works nationwide to open the door to educational opportunities for young people of color. Their mission is to increase substantially the number of well-educated young people of color who are capable of assuming positions of responsibility and leadership in American society. The signature College Preparatory Schools Program annually recruits, refers, and supports about 500 A Better Chance Scholars at more than 300 of the nation’s leading boarding, day, and public schools. Burgundy is one of only a handful of participating day schools in Virginia.
