You are here

Burgundy educates children from age 4 (junior kindergarten) through grade 8. Students usually join us in junior kindergarten, kindergarten, and 6th grade, but we welcome your family's interest in entering at any grade JK-8.

The admission process begins in the fall prior to the year in which a student enrolls. First, please get in touch with the Admission Office by completing our online inquiry form or by calling 703.329.6968. We'll send you an admission packet. Then, plan to attend an Open House, held monthly October through January.

Moving to the area or interested in changing schools mid-year? Director of Admission Lori Adams can advise you about visiting and applying to Burgundy.

Why Burgundy?

The Burgundy community is united by its commitment to help all our students realize their full potential as students and as people. Burgundy invites families to partner with faculty and staff dedicated to instilling in children a passion for learning, a strong sense of self, and a measure of responsibility for the world around them.

Our innovative academic program engages children in an integrated curriculum that prepares graduates for success at a wide range of area high schools and in life. Burgundy’s 503-acre West Virginia campus and 26-acre Alexandria campus provide unique labs for learning where students can explore the outdoors and experience nature. Theme-based units and project-oriented classwork on both campuses combine with field trips utilizing the vast resources of the Washington D.C. metropolitan area to provide students with in-depth examinations that cultivate critical thinking skills.

Our developmental, individual approach to teaching inspires children’s natural curiosity and creativity, while our community invites parents, friends, and extended family to share in the exciting discoveries their student will make at Burgundy. Burgundy offers not only an exceptional education, but also additional activities and support that provide convenience for parents and promote family involvement and life-long learning. Becoming a part of the Burgundy community means choosing to participate in your child’s education and investing in his or her future as a compassionate, confident scholar and person.

We look forward to meeting you soon!
